Leveraging marketing technology for public service and the benefit of the public good is extremely important. One of our largest commitments to this is through our important partnership with the Federation for Internet Alerts (FIA), which leverages the immediacy of digital to help spread the word in real-time, in case of community emergencies. The incredible work FIA is doing was recently recognized with the 2015 People’s Voice Webby Award for Advertising and Media: Public Service and Activism.

FIA began as a partnership between Conversant and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in January 2011, adding GroupM (formerly 24/7 Media) in 2012. Today, FIA partners with multiple organizations within the trade forming the Digital Advertising Alliance, offering expertise in internet technology, networks, exchanges and publisher inventory. Media companies support FIA by releasing millions of unused ad units. When law enforcement issues an AMBER Alert or the National Weather Service issues life threatening weather emergencies, the information is passed into FIA creative and in seconds the alert is geo-targeted to phones, tablets and computers in the area.

FIA strives to help its partners get crucial alerts in front of the right people at the right time and in the right location. Their mission is to be a facilitator for internet technology and services collaboration among companies, non-governmental organizations and alerting authorities to promote standards-based, all-hazards, all-media, authoritative alerting to individual societies worldwide.

Epsilon/Conversant helps to distribute digital emergency messages in collaboration with FIA and we could not be prouder of this partnership. For more information click here.
